![]() This will allow you to easily one hit many enemies. ![]() This is effectively a higher-damaging single target version of Darkness that is very good for higher HP enemies. This will deal massive damage and ignore all stats and status effects (except Invincibility), at the cost of some HP. This is the single most important materia for progressing through the missions. QMC+ (also found in Chapter 9 Gongaga), you will receive the Costly Punch materia. If you fuse this with any of the purple Materia bought at Research Dept. Once you get to Chapter 9 in Gongaga, there is a minigame you can complete ( Waterfall Chaser trophy) which will reward you with the Goblin Punch materia. After reaching 25% Buster Sword proficiency you will be able to break the 9999 damage ceiling to deal even more damage. Use Darkness in combination with Buster Sword Stance + (Story unlock in Chapter 6) to deal double damage. Given you can heal, you can simply spam this on most enemies. This does damage to enemies in a wide area-of-effect at the cost of HP. ![]() A good materia to use during story progression is Darkness (in conjunction with HP-boosting materia like HP Up, and a healing materia), which can be obtained from Mission 8-4-6: Suspicious Mail 6, as early as the end of Chapter 3. Anything above 6 however will prove difficult using just what you have available to you from story progression, so these should be left until the end of the game when you have a greater variety of accessories and materia. ![]() As you play through the game you should be able to do up to 5 pretty comfortably, with 6 being a bit difficult but manageable. ![]() Missions are rated between 1 and 10 star difficulty. ![]()
